Orange Groves in San Diego?

Hi everyone,

I'm looking to take engagement photos in an orange grove of some sort but I'm having trouble locating possible sites in San Diego. Does anyone know of any locations with orange trees where we can take a few photos?

I'm not from the area so any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I know Escondido has some orange groves...but they might be private and fenced....

There are still lots of orange groves in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. I haven't seen too many down here, they've all been mowed down for houses. One that comes to mind is on Highway 38 near Mentone. If you take your photos on a clear day in December, all the fruits should be ripe and orange. Right now they're still green.

There's one behind Wiens Family Cellars in Temecula.  They don't own it, but it shouldn't be too hard for you to find out who does.  Just remember one little trivia fact I learned while wine tasting up there- in California, it is a felony to pick an orange (or an avocado) without the permission of the grove's owner!  Smile
