We are having a park wedding and HAVE to use picnic tables at our casual reception. I bought rolls of this thick plastic as a table cover. I was planning on just making two huge table since we cannot move the exsisting tables. Should i use a table runner or what are some low cost ideas to fancy up some brown picnic tables??

    I think table runners are a good idea.  Or even really creative centerpieces can dress up a borring table right away.  Or have a lot of visually pleasing things to look at everywhere else to draw people's attention elsewhere, or other activities so that they dont spend a lot of time at the tables.

    You could also make wooden tables tie into a theme of rustic-chic - use mason jars with rafia filled with colorful flowers for decor.  You could do a runner down the middle of a wood table, which can look really nice!
