Cake Pricing

Hi -

I'm trying to keep the price of the cake down without doing cupcakes.  My friend's SIL can do a cake through her bakery for $450 for 100 people.  Is that reasonable/average?  I've seen cake prices from $9 plus per slice on the higher end but not sure how low I could go without doing Food Emporium!

    that's pretty good..$4.50 per slice!

    The lowest I've seen is about $6=$7 per slice - silkcakes.com or citysweets.com

    That is a great price! My cake is 700,-
    You can look up this company on Manhattan that does cake 'rentals'.. They will rent a fake display cake for you but you have something to cut and then for your guests they use sheet cake.. This comes out a lot cheaper. If that is something you are not into ask your friend to make a small display cake and sheet cake for cutting, that should also bring your price down.
