Suggest where you got your cake! please :)

So our date is 6-9-12. Expecting 80-90 guests, reception is in Fairfield. We'd like to stay around $200-$250 for our cake total.
Flying Buttercream doesn't do weddings anymore.
Spoon Fulla Sugar is out of our price range (although delish!)
DK Catering/Cakes email won't go through :(
and we're not interested in Cheesecake although I know how amazing Jerry's Cheesecake is..

any other suggestions?? thanks ladies

We ordered ours from The Cake Movers in Englewood. I don't know how far that would be for you, but they are really affordable.

Bonberie Bakery or Bonomini (in Northside) should both easily fit into your budget.

Bonomini is a local family-owned bakery that's been around forever. They do not do fondant though - so if that's what you're looking for - don't even bother. They will customize just about whatever you want - and they actually charge by the round - rather than by the slice.

We haven't ordered our cake yet - but our experience with Bonomini for everything else in our life has been great.

Jeana's Great Cakes is by far the best and most reasonable. But I am bais as she did my wedding cake and groom's cake.

I second Bonomini Bakery. We've been getting our birthday cakes and holiday sweets from them for years. If you are looking for something flashy or with intricate decorations, this isn't for you. But if you want a seriously delicious cake, this is amazing. They just did my wedding this past weekend and we were so happy!

Yeah - and the ladies at Bonomini are so sweet. They have the best baked goods in the city - for sure.

But yes - if you want nicely rolled fondant - they just aren't for you. Their cakes are still beautiful though.

Try out Delicious Designs by Jessica.  We never got a chance to try her (since we went with Jeana's Great Cakes - also amazing), but her price is RIGHT! I think she starts at like $1.75 a slices.

Dorothy Lane Market in Centerville. We chose to do cupcakes for guests and one cake tier for the wedding party because cupcakes are much cheaper. DLM bakery makes amazing desserts...and since we're only ordering one cake tier, they charged us the regular cake price instead of the wedding cake price- saving us 50%. We're paying less than $200 for 150 guests.
