Long story, but my parish is undergoing major construction due to their capital campaign and our wedding was scheduled for a Friday, and we cannot get our money back for the reception, and our priest thought it would be ready for November but the church won't be ready until at least December.
If you are having a Friday evening wedding and it is at a Carholic church in Houston, please let me know where your church is so I can call them.
I've tried St. Michaels, St. Anne's, Holy Rosary, Annunciation, and the Co Cathedral downtown. The reception is off of San Felipe and Yorktown in the Galleria/Tanglewood area, so we are trying to stay as close as possible. The above listed churches either do not host Friday weddings, have other events booked or refuse to host us because we are not parishioners, regardless of the situation.
