Escort Card question...a little long

I received an RSVP from my cousin and his wife. Haven't talked to them in gosh, at least 6 years or more. She had a couple kids when they met- I'm not sure if any of the three are his. They are all now about 13-17 years old.

Anyway, my dilemma is that on the RSVP she wrote "Mr. and Mrs. Smith and family" I don't know any of the kid's last name(s) so can I just make one escort card that says "Darren and Jenny Smith, 1 kid first name, 2 kid first name, 3 kid first name"? Or do I have to write one for each of them? They are all sitting together too.

Did anyone else have similar dilemmas?
TIA!

Also, did you, or are you contacting people that don't RSVP on time? I still don't have 30 RSVP's and it's 5 days past the deadline...not exactly sure what to say without sounding like a jerk :)

Regarding the escort card question, I would just call someone who knows and find out their names.  Or just call your cousin directly and say something like, "you didn't put individual names on the RSVP card, so I just want to double check who all is coming and make sure I have the spelling of everyone's full name correctly."  I doubt that would sound offensive.  I don't think putting all 5 names on one card would be breaking any wedding rules, but IMO it would just look kind of messy.  I doubt you would offend anyone by asking, I had to do it (I wasn't sure if my uncle's new wife took his last name and I didn't want to assume, so I just asked!  Via text message, lol.  No biggie).

Regarding RSVPs, absolutely call and ask!  If you're overwhelmed with the job (as I was - I also had a TON of non-responders) ask someone to call on your behalf.  I had my MOH, mom and grandmother do it for me.  Which was great, b/c grandma really knows how to crack the whip, lol.

I agree with Carolyn. Definitely call and find out their names and who's coming. I also put my Mom in charge of getting the RSVPs in for those who haven't responded, and FI's Step-Mom and Grandma in charge of FI's family.

Thank you, ladies! That's exactly what I was looking for. I will contact my cousin's wife and ask for their full names. I'll also ask my Nana and cousin to contact families to see who's coming or not. Thanks again!!
