Looking for ideas/advice

Hello Ladies! I hope this is ok to post here as I don't see a bridal shower board. Of course I could just be blind! Anyways I am hosting a bridal shower for my friend. It will be at my church on a Saturday and since there is afternoon service I will be having it at 10 AM. I wouldn't assume a meal would be served if I were attending but wanted to be sure that I am correct in not needing to plan a meal? Basically this is what I am thinking-
Juice
Coffee
Water
I have a bakery and my friend requested cupcakes instead of cake
Bagel bites from Panera
Fruit Tray
Cookies
Puppy Chow

Does this list sound like a decent list of items for a 10 AM shower? Any advice is appreciated, thank you in advance!

[QUOTE]I think that list sounds great for a 10 a.m. shower!  Maybe include tea if hot water is an option?  And if you can provide sugar and creamer for the coffee, that could be nice too.

Thank you! I'm not a coffee drinker so I definitely would have spaced out on creamer and sugar

  • What is puppy chow?  Panera has great cream cheeses too-getting a few different flavors would be great.

Yes I was definitely planning on getting the cream cheese to go with the bagel bites... And oh my you don't know what puppy chow is? You definitely don't know what you're missing out on! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" /> It's rice chex coated with a mixture of peanut butter and melted chocolate chips then coated in powder sugar. It's addicting!

  • I think it sounds great too.  Perfect for a mid-morning shower.
  • Sounds lovely!
  • I would be quite happy with that spread as a guest.

  • I need to make some of this "puppy chow" you are all raving about...yum!  Maybe I'll make some as a surprise for FI--we joke that he has "puppy syndrome" because when he's really hungry and he really likes something, he eats really fast and way too much, and then lays on the couch and  complains about how "puffed up" his belly is (he's naturally slim and trim and eats whatever he wants)--just like puppies do with food (can't stop themselves and get that "puppy belly").

I definitely agree with one of the PPs about swapping out the cookies for muffins or something similar.  I really like the Trader Joe's orange glazed scones--they are reeee-di-cu-lous and I could eat 20.
  • Puppy chow is better known as muddy buddies, in case anyone else is confused. Muddy buddies are my FAVORITE :

Oh my- glad you explained what puppy chow is... Here I was thinking it was the Purina kibble!

That menu sounds really nice.  I like that there are some sweet and some savoury options.  I do like the idea of scones, too or maybe crackers and cheese for people who aren't into sweets, although 10am may be early for that...

I've never heard it called that, I wonder if it just depends on where you live as to what it's called!
