how much do dj's usually range???

I havent even started looking yet, ,but I have heard from some people that they are like $500, then from others they are over $2000... ???

I think that's actually a pretty good range, depending on whether you're going amateur or with, like, a super-fancy company. The price quotes I got in my area were around $1000 for a five-ish hour event. Best thing you can do is call/email around.

In my area, they range from $250-$1500. Normal being about $500.

This is so, so area-dependent. Where I live, it's difficult to find a DJ for under $1000. The prices increase exponentially when you include things like light shows, fog machines, live performers, etc.
