casual rehearsal dinner in Roanoke?

We are looking for a casual place for our rehearsal dinner. something a little fun. Maybe family style italian or BBQ? the formalities are for the wedding. we just want to be relaxed and have fun the night before. ( we are looking at around 40 people)    Any ideas?

We're using Jim Schaal for our wedding catering, so we're going to use his Campbell St. location and have him cater that for the rehearsal dinner.  We'll just use whatever decorations and set up that he has, and have a buffet.  That way, we can serve pretty much whatever we want...maybe give him a call?  He has a strong personality, but he's got a great reputation and he does good work!

I asked a similar a while ago and some people suggested Coach and Four on Williamson or Blue's BBQ on Market St in Roanoke. Good luck! Please let us know if you find another awesome place. Oh, also Lew's Restaurant is also very laid back and accomodating!

If you want something more family style, look into The Homeplace in Catawba.  (About 15 minutes from North Roanoke County) It's all you can eat for ~$14/person (depending on how many meats you choose), including tea/lemonade/soda & dessert.  They have a room you can reserve for private parties.  They don't have a website, but if you Google them, you can find their phone number.
