Dates?

Trying to figure out if a labor day wedding Sunday would be ok. My family is out of state. I want to have an outdoor wedding and our officiant would be coming from out of state. Also if a cousin of mine got married that weekend 8 years ago, is it ok?

I really wanted a May wedding but now a cousin of SO got married the first weekend of May last year, the 2nd weekend is Mother's Day and it will be my first, the 3rd weekend is my maid of honors bday and I don't know if I should do that and the 4th weekend is memorial day and my maid of honor has another wedding

I can't see why you can't get married the first weekend in May. Just because your fiance's cousin got married that weekend doesn't mean that weekend is off limits.

As far as Sunday of Labor Day, sure, why not?

As far as the dates are concerned, I would just let people know earlier than normal that you will be having it on Labor Day weekend. That way they won't plan something else! Otherwise, I agree with the above. Go for it!

The only concern I would have is weather, since May can be unpredictable. My fiance and I just moved to CO from WI this year, and were looking at a date in May for an outdoor wedding. I was warned that there could be snow still, even not up in the mountains. But, if that is not an issue for you, then I wouldn't worry. I personally wouldn't mind getting married in teh snow except for the fact that I tend to be cold ALL the time. It would be pretty though!

I think if that is what you want you should do it. You will just need to be okay with not all of your guests might not be able to attend since it is a holiday a weekend.

We are having ours the Saturday after Labor Day so that our out-of-town guests (my entire family and most friends) can still enjoy their own Labor Day traditions back in Oregon, or they can come out to Colorado early for a week of wild west fun leading up to the wedding
