Shoes?

I ordered shoes from DSW, they processed the order and charged my credit card, THEN told me the shoes were out of stock.

My dress fitting is this Sunday, so I don't have time to order another pair online. Any physical stores around Boston (will be in the South Shore and New Hampshire before Sunday, so willing to travel) where I might be able to find reasonably priced ivory shoes?

Re: Shoes?

  • Endless.com has 3.99 overnight shipping. I didn't order them until the day before my fitting because I couldn't find anything decent at the physical stores I went to... mall, dsw, department stores, TJ maxx, etc
  • The DSW in Framingham/Natick is pretty big and so is the store at Downtown Crossing.  You could also try Off Broadway.
  • There's also a DSW in Dedham.  Maybe try the Wrentham Outlets?

I thought the selection of bridal shoes there was pretty poor (I looked there several times since I live nearby).  Then again, I was looking for something fairly specific (a light colored 3.5"+ heel that would be comfortable). They have a few Ninas (which I like, but were all too low of a heel for me), but the other brands they had in stock were Caparos, Lulu Townsend and Kelly and Katie (all of which are, in my opinion, really uncomfortable and kind of cheap).  There were maybe 1 or 2 pairs of Badgley Mischkas but the style wasn't what I was looking for.

I'm almost positive these are in stock there (if this is the sort of shoe you are looking for):

Call first, but like I said, I looked at the Natick store several times (probably at least 3 or 4 and their stock never changed in bridal).
  • Do you still want the "out of stock" shoes? If so, then I would tell the bridal salon that you ordered your shoes, they haven't come in, but they are _ inches tall. That way you can try on a pair with the same height. If this is your first dress fitting, they may not even touch the length of the dress. I've had 2 fittings and they havent' done anything about the length because other alterations will effect that.

This isn't as big of a deal as you think :) I would go with the shoes you ordered, get the height and ask to wear a pair of theirs, and then when yours come in, bring them to your next fitting.

  • Shoes to Dye for in Natick has a pretty large selection. I can't remember all of the brands they have, but I ended up with a pair by Angela Nuran that I love!

  • Thanks guys! I ended up getting some on Endless.com which should come in time. If I hate them, I'll still bring them to my fitting then check out some of your other recommendations. This will be my second fitting (didn't have my shoes last time) and she specifically told me we'd me measuring for the hem, so I should probably have something! :)
  • Check out Nordstrom. If you aren't looking for a basic white shoe, and want something that pops, Nordstrom has a great selection, and contrary to popular belief, not everything in there is expensive.

I got my wedding shoes from Nordstrom. They are purple suede and I only paid $45 for them! They were on sale from $120.

If you are going to check out the DSW in Natick (which is HUGE, btw) definitely stop into Nordstrom in the Natick Mall.
