Decorating With Pineapples?

Wanted to know if anyone had some creative ideas to incorporate pineapples into my reception (Aside from the typical "Scooping them out & using them as candle holders"). I'm envisioning sophisticated tropical, as my Fi is from Haiti and I want our wedding to remind our guests of the island. I've seen a few things, but am trying to get ideas outside the box! Thanks!

All I can think of off the top of my head is to do whole fruit arrangements as centerpieces. Maybe a platter or bowl of fresh fruit with the pineapple being the main piece of fruit. You can stick a few flower blooms in the fruit arrangement, or bowls of floating blooms or candles in addition to that.

Or, if you'd consider something similar to pineapples, you could use bromeliads, a flowering plant similar to a pineapple:
