    I'm just going to show off my favorite gift because I think it's so cool.

    I saw this lamp at Anthropologie.  

    I showed it to my mom, told her I thought it'd look awesome in the guest room with my grandma's bird's eye maple bedroom suite, but lamented the fact that they want $200 for it.

    This morning, I opened this up

    My mom showed the Anthropologie lamp to my dad and he made this one for me <3

    DH's family loves to give gifts galore. I think I probably got more gifts from his family this year than I have from my family in the last 5 years combined! We still have a few things we're expecting from my family, but I'll answer based off our current stash.

    What gift...

    Was your favorite and why?
    I think my favorite so far is the one from DH. He took the music that he composed for our wedding and hand wrote/drew it on larger, nicer paper. Then he had the two pages framed. They are SO sweet, and I know how hard he worked on them. :)

    Is most likely to end up in next year's White Elephant?
    A Christmas towel. It's really not my style, and I don't tend to use decorative towels anyways.

    Will you use the most?
    Probably the PJ pants from DH's gram. They are ridiculously comfortable!

    Is the most fun?
    I got the BEST Nerf gun. DH's family has Nerf wars, and my weapon clobbers them all! I can shoot like 20 bullets rapid fire and it also has a missile that lights up when it hits its target. :D 


    We also got a beautiful hand-made wooden bowl from FIL. He's just learning how, so ours is #2 of 3 so far.

    Was your favorite and why? A hard cover coffee table book full of pictures of us and our dog ("our family"). He spent hours making it and getting it print. So adorable and so meaningful.

    Is most likely to end up in next year's White Elephant? Haha FI's aunt means well but she got me the worsttttt Christmas sweater. I mean really... I thought it might have been a joke. But it wasn't so I was polite :)

    Will you use the most?  New hair straightener

    Is the most fun? Mario Wart for the Wii :)

    I really love this necklace FI got me. I saw it on Etsy and wanted it from the moment I saw it. FI got the hint real well Smile Its my first name initial, a small heart and his first name initial, a <3 b

    nothing that I can think ok. I love everything I got.

    Will you use the most?
    probably the necklace above or the cross pendant necklace FI got me. I did really good this year!

    Is the most fun?
    my Keurig coffee maker that my mom got off our registry. I know people say you aren't supposed to use gifts before you get married but I can't wait to use it.

    What gift...

    Was your favorite and why? I liked everything! I got nice clothes, movies, etc. My mother-in-law got me a bunch of things, but I really like the thirty-one bag she gave me that has Game Night embroidered on it. It is huge and will fit a few games. She knows we love game nights. 

    Is most likely to end up in next year's White Elephant? I did get towels that I wasn't real big on but they are already in the wash, so I'll use them. 

    Will you use the most? Probably the planner my brother got me. I use my planner all the time to keep my schedule straight.

    Is the most fun? The Kindle Fire! It was the main thing I wanted but I didn't think I would get it because it is so expensive. Mom and Dad surprised me with it. I love it! It is so much fun, but I have to be careful it doesn't take up ALL my time haha.

    Will you use the most? FI got me a bracelet that goes with everything-- one of those wear-every-day ones. 

    Is the most fun? Not sure, most of our gifts came from our registry. I do love my mixer...

    Was your favorite and why?   My sister makes me a calendar with pictures of her kids and I love it!  

    Is most likely to end up in next year's White Elephant?  DH's aunt gave us each a bear that sings "Jesus Loves Me" when you squeeze their bellies.  It is really cute but I'm 40 years old!

    Will you use the most?  I got gift cards for Dunkin Donus and Wawa (I get coffee from both) so these will get used a lot.

    Is the most fun?  DH bought me The Office Monopoly which will be fun to play.

    FI got me a Keepsake Bridal Bible, which I absolutely love, and had it customized with our wedding date on the front:

    Nothing, I like everything I got this year

    The cross necklace that my friend/bridesmaid gave me. I had been wearing one everyday, but no longer have that one, so I was so happy to get this one!


    Is the most fun?
    FI got me a spa set that came with a neck pillow that has a built in massager! I think its the most fun simply because I work a desk job, and been getting A LOT of neck pain recently, so this makes the pain go away so I can have fun!

    Hmm I got a lot of great things this year.  I think my favorites were my new coat (it's waterproof and I needed one so badly), my bike, and the fuzzy blanket FSIL got me.

    Was your favorite and why?  What will you use the most?  What is the most fun?  My Cuisinart Griddler - I LOVE IT!  I've already used it every day since I opened it, and can't wait to see what else it can do!

    Is most likely to end up in next year's White Elephant?  My sister decided to purchase everyone used books.  My Dad got a bunch of 1st editions that he won't read, FI got a book about a military underworld that he won't read, and I got a book about a geisha that I won't read.  Plus, it's covered in dust and I can't be around dust.

    FI and I got a bunch of great stuff!! I did finally get my new iPhone that I was pretty excited about!
    My FSIL did give us this really pretty wooden plaque in our house colors that has our new last name and wedding date on it.

    A shirt my mom bought. I absolutely hate the color pink and she always seems to buy me pink things. She always says, "I know you don't like pink, but..."

    Will you use the most?
    My phone! And the duvet cover and decorative pillows that my FMIL gave us

    FI and I pulled together gift cards and bought a kinect!

    Probably a jean jacket with fuzzy around the neck from DH's Mema and the matching scarf my momma made me!!  They are soooo warm and stylin' together.  :)

    Oh good gravy my mom gave me a pair of earrings that are cats (I used to love everything cat when I was like 8 but I quickly grew out of that) and the body is on one dangly, the middle is on another in front, and the head on a separate in the very front!!  They are so weird!!

    Will you use the most?
    The fuzzy black slippers that I've lived in from DH's Mema.  :)

    Is the most fun?
    Either the tradition of the coloring book my momma gives me, or my art stuff.  I love it!!

    Was your favorite and why?
    Well, because I'm anticipating moving to India, I wanted to ask for things I could move easily or would benefit me regarding that.  I asked for two big ticket items, a Nook and a digital camera.  I last got a digital camera in 2004, so obviously it was way outdated, and it will really help with my blog. Plus, I totally want to be able to take photos of India for people back home!  I have to admit, I'm right now more excited about  my Nook... I got both! I was shocked, I expected one or the other. The camera is 16mp. The Nook was exciting because I blog for free books, and when I move to India I won't be able to get the print versions anymore, but I can get ebooks, so I wanted the black and white one so I could read digitally without eyestrain. It's amazing and I love it.

    Is most likely to end up in next year's White Elephant?
    Nothing. While I did do a mental sigh when I opened up the two shirts I got, it was because I specifically requested no clothes because I won't be able to bring what I already have to India, not because they weren't cute and I won't wear them.

    Will you use the most?
    Well, probably the domain name that FI bought for me for my blog!! He got it for me a few weeks before Christmas, but I count it. He also got me Hindi learning software, the other large item on my list, which I'll be using a lot!

    Is the most fun?
    Well, all of those are totally fun. But I'll use this question to tell about what else I got: jewelry from my grandpa and my sisters, yarn, a gift certiciate for a craft store, a snuggie, and chocolate.

    It was an amazing year as far as gifts go. I am so happy. Makes me feel a little materialistic, but I'm just so pleased.
