Ceremony Musician

I just thought of this...do I have to feed my ceremony musician? Do they (if not invited) show up at the reception?

Re: Ceremony Musician

  • Typically they would not attend the reception if they are at the ceremony as a vendor.  If they are a friend outside of being your ceremony musician (i.e. if you asked a group from your church that you had a pre-existing relationship with to perform) then you really should extend an invitation to the reception as well and leave it up to them if they care to attend.
  • Thank you very much, ceh789! That's just what I needed to know!

  • I had mine play through the cocktail hour and had the same question.  My event planner said not to feed them, but I did tip them a small amount.
  • Only if they are going to be there for a considerable amount of time - and then likely only a snack. If you want them to play the ceremony in the afternoon, and then the cocktail, they'll eat before and then go home afterwards.
  • Thanks everyone... You have all been so helpful. Happy Spring!
