Dr Jazz and the New Orleans sound 504 400 5246 Between 300 and 500 dollars for second line depending on size of parade party. Very helpful when it comes finding information about filing for parade permit.

  • I LOVED Kinfolk Brass band, they were so fun, highly recommend.

  • We had Rebirth Brass Band.  It was pretty steep at $1000, but it was totally worth it.  Plus, they went all the way from City Park (where our reception was) down to Jackson Square (where we started the Second Line) on a Saturday night, which we thought was pretty cool of them.  They rocked it out and it was the best part of the night.  Our guests were blown away and so were we.
  • Dang Rebirth was only $1000?! i would have thought it would have been way more. We are going with Kinfolk Brass band so i'm happy to see MMLM loved them! :) They are costing us $700. I booked them through White Oak productions.

  • How did you book rebirth?
  • We had the best luck contacting Rebirth by just stopping by the Maple Leaf for their regular Tuesday show, waited until after the second set, and then just walked up to them and asked.

We had tried repeatedly to contact them through their booking agent, but we were getting nowhere.  We figured direct contact would at least get us an answer, and they said yes right away.  Yeah, you're right, tinkerbek, $1000 isn't bad for Rebirth, but I guess I was just thinking that with the permit cost and the transportation and then handkercheifs the entire Second Line was just overall pricey, but again we wouldn't have changed a thing!
  • We hired the Storyville Stompers and were really happy with our decision.  They were great and very professional.
  • We booked Kinfolk after reading great reviews on here and getting a recommendation from a friend at White Oak. They can also help you with the info you need for the permit/police escort. Ask for Becky at White Oak!
  • How far is acceptable to walk in a second line parade? My ceremony and reception sites are 0.4 mile (4/10)  apart. Is that too far for folks to walk in heals and all? Also, is it tacky to do this if New Orleans is not part of my heritage and we're in a small town?  We're looking for an entertaining way to transfer people without losing any momentum!
