Sh*t people say to brides

I got a kick out of this article, so I thought I'd share.  Some of the comments were more amusing to me than the article.

(Click on the words "this article" when I pasted the link it wouldn't let me post because of the profanity in the link title haha)

So... what are some questions you're sick of hearing?

The top questions I keep getting that are kinddd of annoying are...
    - So what do you still have left to do?
    - Do you have your dress?  (Followed by: Can I see it?)

I think I was asked these about 5 times in the last week.  I should just answer "Yes, I'm done with EVERYTHING..." because answering truthfully takes me like 20 minutes because they ask details for everything I still have left to do. lol

Oooo I forgot one more!!  "What's your date again?"
I sent you a STD more than a month ago for a REASON!! lol

  • Let's see, my venue is a county park so I've gotten "So I can wear jeans?". Also, since my invites have been out I've gotten a couple "We'll probably be too late for the ceremony but we'll make the reception." Huh??? Who does that????

<div>Mine's in a park too -- I think I have "Formal ceremony" and "Formal reception" written out about 5 times on the website!</div>

  • "Are you nervous?  Stressed?"
Honestly, no.  Stop asking.  Am I suppose to be a nutsy bridezilla with only 3 months to go?  We had a long engagement so that we could take our time planning details.  I pretty much have everything done, which means I'm not nervous or stressed.

  • "Are you excited?"

No, I'm miserable planning one of the most special days of my life. Thank you for asking!

  • Just wait until after your wedding, you'll all have months of people asking "so how's married life?" I'm still getting it nearly 5 months later.

You know, im actually sick of people just plan out asking "How is wedding planning going?"...it kind of reminds me of when parents ask their child "How was school?"

    First comes Love (2.23.2006)
    Then comes Marriage (6.23.2012)
    Then comes Baby #1 (5.10.2013)
    And Baby #2 (EDD 6.15.2014)
    In the baby carriage!
  • I have had a several ask myself or my parents about hotel information (we're doing a DW in Niagara Falls). I put it on the website along with a lot of other information. I did make sure that on the STDsthe site was listed, but I guess people were not looking at it. So I'm wondering if I should include more info in the invites or just word by mouth...???

  • You might want to start a new post for this.  I'm not sure people may see it, but I could be wrong.  :)  I am listing my website again on my invites and saying something like "Please visit our wedding website for accommodations information, directions, and more."
