NWR- Wines

I've been going gaga over wines lately since going to a few winery's and doing wine tastings. Are you ladies avid wine drinkers? If so, what's your favorite? I've always been a white wine but after trying merlot, i'm starting to get a feel for red wine. :)

White wine is nice because it's easier to digest and doesn't stain, but red can really enhance some foods.  With Desi or Middle Eastern food I often go for a Shiraz.  I also like Pinot Noir and Malbec, but many people find them too strong, so for a party I might choose a cabernet.

For whites, Viognier goes with everything, but I find most people like Chardonnay a lot.  A lot of people like Riesling, but I really don't.  I have a good bottle of Muscat I'm saving for the right occasion Smile

Yeah, I'm not wild about Chardonnay either, but everyone else seems to like it???  Pinot Grigio is more interesting.

I am not a fan of chardonnays either, but I do like me some rieslings. I like to go to the wine store and wander around to see what is new and different. Yesterday I discovered a sweet red wine, dornfelder. The husband and I are now fans, so good!
