Texas-San Antonio

Texas Hill Country Wedding

Wedding is in 6 months. I need to book everything. Any suggestions for music (DJ and string quartet), photography (artsy), and catering (BBQ for rehearsal and ?for reception) out of the Fredricksburg/Kerrville area?

Thank you!

I am assuming that you have a venue??

For flowers I would recommend Edens Echo, but you have to check her website to see if she is booked or not. http://www.edensecho.com/ Look under the tab called  Popular. She is out of San Antonio, but I am sure she would travel there. She is coming to New Braunfels for my wedding.

    As far as catering,
    http://www.billsbbq.net/aboutus.html in Kerrville
    http://www.buzziesbbq.com/ Kerrville
    http://cartewheelscatering.com/

I have not tried any of those places, but they came up when just looking around. The cartewheels site is pretty.

A friend of mine is using CMI Photography out of New Braunfels and has been pretty happy with them.  Griffin Photography is also out of New Braunfels and their website is adorable!  We are using Phenom Photographry, he is out of San Antonio but is traveling to Castroville for our wedding - he is super nice and I love our engagement pictures!

And our DJ is Christian, he's from Texas Entertiainment which is based out of College Station but he lives in SA.  A friend uses them in College Station a lot and recommended the company, I have been super happy with everything so far and Christian is a great guy!

Our DJ is Brandon with Planitum DJ Entertainment: he is really great.  We were so impressed with him from my best friends wedding we booked him with no hesitations.
Also, what is your price range for photography?

Anne Marie Photography is really nice.
Some of my fav's (but unfortunately out of my price range) are http://www.westvita.com/
    http://www.marcusrevilla.com/

Bend the Light's pictures look fantasic as well!

Music: Allegretto.  They are affordable and offer us different combinations to find what you're looking for, guitar & violin, or string quartet...etc.

DJ: Just came from a wedding that used Cutting Edge. They were great, keep the mood going and kind of worked a bit like a reception coordinator. Platinum DJ also. For the string quartet, I will ask the bride from this wedding I just came from. They were great and on cue for the ceremony.
Photography: Look at these for artsy style. I don't know your price range but maybe these suggestions will help:
    Bold Imagery by Jason Connel
    Raw Images Photography
    FACES by jessica
    Bend the Light
    Photographically Everafter.
I love all of their websites and style. Narrowing it down may be another story.
Flowers: I've heard good things about Eden's Echo but mainly Budget Bridal.
BBQ: Is there a Grady's in the area that could cater it?
Good luck and let us know which vendors you pull together and why if you have the time!

Thank you so much everyone for you input! I really appreciate it.

So far I am really pleased with the conversation I had with Inked Fingers Photography. Does anyone know anything about their work. This is where I would like to make an investment.

Inked Fingers. I couldn't find them on the knot. nor the Austin Wedding Guide. I tried to look them up in Wedding Wire and ended up googling to find it, which usually means they have deactivated their Wedding Wire. There was only one bad review and its legitimacy was quite shaky. The other reviews were great (2007-2009)  Looking at their website, the images look great. If you are looking for the artsier side of photography, I think you will be happy.  Make sure you meet in person to really get a feel for the photographer. It is really a must to be comfortable with this person. Not just the money or the products or the style but also the person. If all of those planets align, I say go for it!

When it comes to BBQ, I highly recommend Buzzies BBQ. They have the best BBQ in the area, hands down. I and my family eat there quite a bit and they've catered several events we've attended.

As for everything else.....I'm still doing research for my own wedding and can't offer much advice. GL! :)

Punalu'u Productions DJ Service did my wedding.  Extremely reasonable and he is on the list of Best DJ's for 2011 here on the knot.  Ed was great at reading the crowd and mc'd the whole night.  We had our wedding at The Serengeti Resort in Bergheim which is just east of Boerne.  Call Brandi there at Serengeti.
