Teachout Building

Anyone used the Teachout Building as a reception venue???

Or been to an event there???

Thoughts? Worth the price? Parking? Any info is appreciated.

Re: Teachout Building

  • We looked there to book, the guy was super nice and if the price was the same it was good for the time you were able to get it. It depends on the size of your guest list, there isn't a lot of room in the main room and no assigned seating area.

Other than that it is a great place, parking is going to be a nightmare, but that's the way it'll be anywhere downtown.

  • I think our guest list will be about 250???? Think that'd work?
  • We went to a reception there and it was very cool.  They had a jazz band instead of a DJ which fit the decor very well.  They used "Taste to Go" for catering, who set up stations in a few rooms.  It was very casual/fancy at the same time.  Personally, I think 250 would be too big...but I'd ask them to see what they've had in there to know for sure.

  • We were planning about 250 and they wouldn't have fit with a dance floor and a DJ. The building is super cool. Another thing to think of that there is a super tiny elevator, and stairs. So if you have a few elderly people it will take more time for them to get up there.
