First Dance??

I was wondering if you are using an iPod for the reception music, how did you set up your first dance? With no DJ to announce...Just trying to figure out how to incorporate the first dance with out it seeming out of place....

    This is one thing I hate.. I Pods at wedding. I know it is cost effective but the quality of music and MC'ing you get from family and friends isn't worth it. There are plenty of very cost effective options with newer DJ's that put an add on Craigslist or wedding wire.

    If you must go the route, find a friend with personality who doesn't mind announcing your dance.

    The only reason for the iPod is that we will be in the Vista Suite, and I don't think a DJ is allowed...

    Are you having an Elvis Impersonator? Maybe he can announce your first dance. We are hiring a Wedding Coordinator so she will make the announcement.

    We are still deciding if we are going to hire an Elvis, because we might want to put the extra money into the food, but that is a good option...

    Do you know anyone who can MC?  My BIL is a professional DJ, he's going to handle any necessary announcements for us.  (Basically just the entrance and cake cutting, we're saving the first dance for our AHR.)  But we're running the music off my laptop.
    This is a neglected planning bio.
    This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    I am sure a friend or a family member can make your announcment as you come into the suite and then they can also make your other announcements. Are you planning on moving into the first dance after you walk through the room?

    aerin & nina - I think those are good ideas.....I will prob see who is going and then ask a person who is more comfortable to help with this. Thanks for the input =)

    OK you guys...now I'm the one who is most nervous with too many outstanding things to complete.  My darn ticker is scaring the crap out of me!

    back to the topic...
    I was thinking that we may just start early on with our dance or have a family member announce our dance later on. I like the idea of Elvis - gotta check the budget for that one.

    LOL!! Oh yeah when mine gets near that month mark I will FREAK! I really liked the Elvis idea, but after we decided that we wanted one, I kinda looked at how we were stretching the budget already and don't want the food & drink to suffer...

    Oh girl I still need to put the deposit for our food down too! I keep looking into other options as well so I am just waiting for Fh's had to give us the money to put it down so I can stop looking and then order my damn cake...

    I have alot left to do but I do have the most important part of the wedding taken care of!  I really can't believe how I've left this to the wire!  Oh well at least I'll have you guys for opinions, etc!!!
