What did you pay for a florist?

I am beginning my search for a florist and I am curious to know- how much did you spend on flowers?  (centerpieces, bouquets, everything)

This varies widely throughout the US.  You should definitely ask your local to get some good feedback.

Just to give you an idea, my wedding was in FL and I spent $1200 total.  This is what I got (and you can see the flowers in my marriage bio):

    1 bride bouquet
    4 BM bouquets
    9 boutonnieres
    3 mom corsages
    Gazebo flowers and greenery
    10 centerpieces
    1 Large cocktail hour arrangement
    2 Large buffet table arrangements
    Flowers for the cake
2 small arrangements for the bar

We rented the vases from our florist and she delivered for free and came back the next day and took the vases.  We donated our flowers to the victorian inn we were staying at (and had our wedding at) so they transferred them into their own vases.

We are paying $785. We are getting . . .

    1 bride bouqet
    7 bridesmaid bouqets
    1 junior bridesmaid bouqet
    10 boutonnieres
    4 corsages
    1 toss bouqet
rose petals for our flower girl
flowers for 23 paper cones at the end of the pews

We are using mostly calla lilies, but adding dahlias, mums, a variety of roses, greenery, and berries. I love my florist and if you lived near St. Louis, I'd tell you to snatch her up. She is amazing and extremely underpriced. Good luck on your search!!!

Whew! Seeing these prices makes me feel better... we budgeted ~$2,000 for our flowers but I had no clue what that would get us. Seeing these items and costs makes me feel a little better.

Is anybody mixing flower centerpieces with non-flower DIYcenterpieces? Our only problem is we will have probably 25+ tables for dinner and I figured if we did half flowers and the other half DIY non-flowers we might be able to save... maybe... ?
