Rose petals

Hi Ladies, where do you get the rose petals? There are so many different variety of rose petals--freeze dried, fresh, and silk, which one is better or more cost effective? Thanks!

Check first to see if your venue allows you to have rose petals thrown. Many churches do not because they don't want the petals crushed into the floor/carpet/etc or strewn all over the place. I'm just using silk rose petals, bought them from Ikea.

Jo-Ann and Michaels have silk petals, and are pretty cheap. I know some florists actually give the flower girl rose petals for free. I have heard a few places that do that. But, defintely check on the church, as I know some don't allow realy petals.

The only thing with the petals at Michael's is that they have these really weird sheer fabric petals that they include...I really don't like the look of those.

I'm doing silk petals, because I've got family with allergies and I didn't want to risk having pollen on the petals since they will be scattered on every table.

I'm getting mine from www.wedideas.com, since that's where I ordered all of our silk flowers from but I wouldn't recommend going there just to buy rose petals; they're a little pricy.  I just stuck them on to my order for the convenience of getting it all done at one place.
