Rehearsal Dinner - Durham

So now that I think I might have picked my venue, I want to help my FI and his parents out by finding a good place for the rehearsal dinner. They live in Massachusetts so basically, it'll be up to us to pick it.

It will probably be 16-18 people total, and I would like it to be not too expensive so it doesn't break their bank. Guests will probably be staying right off of the Page Rd. exit in Durham, and it would be helpful if it wasn't too too far from there.

I've looked at some suggestions on restaurant boards, but they seem kind of pricey and also, a little strange for my tastes. We definitely prefer good old American food. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

Fratello's in Brier Creek or Baby Moon on Airport rd are both good Italian

Niko's Taverna has Greek food and good reviews: http://www.nikostavernainc.com/

None of those are quite "good old American" but they're not too exotic either.

There's an italian place at Southpoint called Maggianos and it's AMAZING! I've been there on lots of special occasions and it's always been dilicious :) They offer a family style serving that's great for large parties.

I've heard of Maggianos and really want to go there sometime. I looked it up and there PP prices are like $35 per person. My FI's parents don't really have a lot of money, and I felt that might be a little much.

Am I going to have a hard time finding something cheaper? I just want to make it easy on them, especially since they are going to have to spend a bunch to get down here in the first place. I'll check out some of those other places though, thanks a lot!

Fratellos is sooo good and very reasonably priced! My coworkers and I go every week for their 7.99 lunch buffet. Nikos is also a very good choice!

Thanks for all the suggestions. You know, for some reason, I always forget pasta is Italian food because I literally LIVE on pasta and bread. I'm going to look into Baby Moon and Fratellos more if we end up having the wedding in Durham. I could definitely go for pasta. Who cares about everyone else? Haha
