I know I haven't been around much as lately, but for my department at the university, summer is actually one of the busiest times of year. It's still going to be crazy for a bit, but I should at least have enough time to swing by here regularly over the next couple weeks.
I don't have too much to update, other than that I may be getting corrective eye surgery in August. My vision is too poor for Lasik, so I'd be having Intraocular Lens Implantation, which basically means I'd be getting implantable contact lenses. I've had a ton of doctor's appointments over the past month to measure/check the health of my eyes. Doctor's on vacation this week, so I should find out for sure sometime next what the plan is. Only thing that may stand in my way is that I have lattice degeneration in my left eye, which means I'm at higher risk than most people for tears/holes in my retina, which could also cause retinal detachment. But from what I've seen, that shouldn't really cause complications with this surgery - I just have to go to a retinal specialist every so often to make sure the problem hasn't exacerbated.
Other than that, I can't think of too much that is worthwhile to share. Anything big that I've missed around here?
