We finally set a date and I've been lurking the forums for a good week now, I figure it's time I come out and say "Hello". We've been engaged since January of this year.

Right now in my wedding planning process we're gathering addresses for the guest list and finalizing our Save the Date cards. Our date is 8/4/13 Smile

We also put the deposit down on the ceremony/reception location photographer and chose wedding party.

    Congrats and welcome to the theknot!!

    Every month we have a signature challenge (siggy challenge) As you can see it is Honeymoon Destination right now.

    Right now in planning we have

    -Save the dates
    -Guestbook
    -Wedding party selected & asked
    - I have gone dress shopping (going again November 3)
    - Venue booked
    -Photographer booked
    -Engagement photos done
    -Piliminary guest list
    - Slowly gathering addresses for guests

    Welcome! You will find this a great place to download. For me the date is 8/24/13. Got a lot done early since it is a destination wedding and we can only visit in the summer/spring mostly, but in a stall now:

    1. dress bought
    2. Invitations bought and guest list finalized
    3. venue picked and just got the contract in the mail
    4. offiant a friend
    5. photographer a friend

    Really worried right now about
    1. Caterer and finding the right one soon
    2. Getting flower stuff figured out soon

    Easy to do and on the list

    Hey! We're date twins! :)

    We've...
    -booked our venue
    -booked our photographer
    -booked our videographer
    -booked our photobooth
    -designed our save the dates, looking into pricing to get them printed
    -put hotel rooms on hold at a nearby hotel
    -purchased my dress
    -MOH has purchased her dress (doing mismatched dresses)
    -decided on our invitations but haven't ordered yet (got a 50% off thing from giltcity)

    Hello!

    So far we have done (we've been engaged since 10/20/11 so we've had a lot of time!)

    1. Picked the date: August 17th 2013
    2. Bought the dress
    3. Picked our colors (gray, green pink)
    4. Decided on a theme (books, literary)
    5. Booked the ceremony/reception venue
    6. Premarital counsling with our officiant
    7. Asked our officiant
    8. Asked our bridal party
    9. Booked the photographer
    10. Booked the DJ
    11. Finished my table numbers
    12. Started collecting items for my center pieces
    13. Started making our favors
    14. Had engagement photos done
    15. Ordered STD's
    16. Primary guest list
    17. Made the flowers for the centerpieces
    18. Meet with the person who is doing our flowers (family friend)
    19. Had engagement party

    Need to do soon:
    Look into the honeymoon
    Do the registry
    Collect addresses!
    Book a block of hotel rooms
    Get started on more DIY projects!

    Congrats on setting the date, and welcome! So far we have our venue and food, photographer, my dress, the florist, the band, my ring and shoes, Save the Dates, good contenders for invitations, and a likely officiant. I've asked my wedding party and the flower girls, but my FI has only asked his best man. We had our epics recently, and I'm about to use them to get going on a guest book. I'm a student and life is crazy this time of year, but I will probably work on DIY table numbers and decorations over the winter break.

    Nice to meet everyone! You all reminded me that I need to book an officant asap! My dress isn't coming until later, I had January in mind to save up for a deposit. I was thinking of just going with David's Bridal. Is that too late?

    We also decided on colors, purple and silver. Somewhat started the registries, should be done within the next few weeks.

    Welcome & Congrats!

    We haven't been doing much planning lately, but we have a lot done.  (I actually haven't logged into the knot since August.)  Here's what we've done so far:
    -Booked our church
    -booked a country club for the reception (includes food, drink, and cake)
    -booked a DJ
    -booked a photographer (and 2nd photographer)
    -blocked hotel rooms
    -bought my dress
    -began marriage prep with the priest
    -took the FOCCUS test
    -scheduled pre cana
    -sent save the dates
    -set up our website
    -my parents hosted an engagement party
    -picked and asked our bridal party
    -took engagement pics

    And this month we will:
    -Register on 11/10
    -Food tasting on 11/24
    -Meet with florists 11/23 & 11/24
    -Book our florist

    I was thinking of going to the florist and cake baker around the six month makr, should I be doing that sooner?

    Welcome and Congratulations!! . I have been kind of lurking too!! Our wedding date is 8/10/13. 

    We have:
    -Booked venue for ceremony and reception
    -Booked DJ
    -Booked Photographer
    -Picked Colors (eggplant and burnt orange)
    -Picked our officiant (friend of FI)
    -Booked Cakes
    -Wedding Party Chosen

    Up Next on the list:
    -Book Caterer
    -Book Florist (by end of this month hopefully)
    -Book Videographer
    -Take Engagement Photos(last week of this month)
    -Get addresses for Save The Dates
    -Start Registry

    I booked my baker early as I now they book up fast here. Smile
