What to do??

I'm confused on what to do! Once the ceremony is over, and before our dinner reception, I want to be able to have professional photos taken of me and my groom around the hotel. What do I tell guestsTo go gamble and do what they want and meet us at the restaurant at such and such time?

Re: What to do??

  • how long are you going be doing photos?  if about hr maybe they can have a drink at the hotel bar or go to the reception and have cocktails
  • We have a long gap between the ceremony and reception, but I'm not worried because we're in Vegas...people should be able to entertain themselves for a couple hours!
  • I think if it's more than an hour you should provide some sort of cocktail hour type setting.  Yes it's Vegas, but the last thing I'd want to do when I'm dressed in a suit for a wedding and reception is go gamble in a smoky casino so I can stink the rest of the night, and I'm both a gambler and a cigar smoker, I just don't do either when I'm wearing a nice suit.  If it's summer time, even worse, since you're not going to want to go wonder around outside in dress clothes.

  • I agree with others... I think it totally depends on the gap of time between the ceremony and the reception..

I have guests going to the suite for the reception... but until we get there we are offering a theme break.. like a cocktail hour..

  • It would be for an hour. There is always the option of just doing it before the ceremony but I won't get my bouquet until the ceremony which I also wanted to have me holding in the pictures and I really didn't want us seeing eachother until the ceremony so I don't know  :(
  • I think with it just being an hour... they can go to the reception location and have drinks or something.. are you providing transportation?

  • I'm in the same boat, don't want to leave them wondering what to do to pass the time. We are having an hour between ceremony and reception for photos also and I figured since most guests are staying at same hotel they can go to rooms if they want and back down for reception. I know it's vegas and there are tons to do but if I were in their shoes I would want somewhere to "go" planned like a cocktail hour with the other guests of wedding.
