Getting ahead of myself... and a question

I have to do a personal evaluation at work.  As I was naming the file with my last name to send to my boss, I realized this was my last year of putting _maidenName.  Of course since I was thinking this... I did _FILastName.  I'm such a ninny.

Question - If you're changing your name will your new initials spell anything? 

My CW pointed out I'm going from AB to AH!  So he's been calling me AH! (like yelling... AHHHHHHHH).  It's ok, I call him MO (his initials).  Yes we are nerds.

    Mine isn't changing. A good thing since we initial all our files with all 3 initials at work. I'll still be KLB. Unless they'll want me to use KLBB since I don't plan on dropping my maiden or my middle but plan to use my maiden as a second middle name. I just have a hard time dropping my maiden since I was my Dad's only child and I'm a girl so I can't carry it through the generations. I also don't want to drop the middle because its a family name. I have it, mom has it, my neice now has it and also a cousin has it. My sisters first name also INCLUDES Lynn...so when/if I have a little girl her name will also INCLUDE Lynn. It won't be her middle name though.

    JWD to JWE, for me. It was a really hard decision, since I'm the last of my maiden name in the family.  However, FI and I plan to use my last name as our kid(s)' middle name(s). That is what my parents did with me, so my middle name is my mother's maiden name.

    Our monogram looks pretty snazzy, if I do say so myself.  :)

    Ha!  I just realized that if I kept hyphenated my initials would be CEWL.  How "cool" is that?

    I am going from MJM to MJK - my maiden name was MJC, so it kind of brings me back.

    Both my sisters first names begin with "K", and our brother married a "K" - I keep saying I finally get my K, too!

    FI initials are MRS. I keep joking with him that after we're married, I'll be a Mrs MRS ;)

    Mine aren't anything fun...EE to EC. FI's initials are JCC, though, and he's occasionally joked about them being the same abbreviation as Jewish Community Center. Tangentially related, he used to work as an IT guy at a Catholic university and unintentionally offended one of the nuns when repairing her computer, because the username they gave him was JChrist!

    Nothing quite so fun. Currently its ER -- which people make jokes about all the time even better my brother's is DR so people call him Doc -- and its going to be EG, even adding my middle initial doens't make it all cool EJG

    Interesting, my mom did this and its why I want to change my middle name (which is appearing more and more to be a pain in the butt).  I've never felt like I had a middle name, just two last names.  Not that that's a horrible thing or anything, plus everyone asks why when I tell them my middle name since it doesn't sound like one.  Though the main reason I want to change now is I feel weird about keeping my mom's name in mine but not my dad's when I take FI's last name.
    I'm not saying don't do it, just something to think on.

    I'm a little sad that my initials are going to change.  Right now they are HA and I love that it's like I'm laughing when I initial paperwork at work.  Changing to HS, not as fun.

    Mine will change from KKM to KKA.  My sister commented that I am going to go from the middle to the beginning of the alphabet. Too bad it doesn't help now that i am not in school or have to be picked based on alphabetical order.

    I'm going from MAG my nickname is Maggie and some people call me Mag for short, so I always thought it was cool that that's what my initials spelled to MAS.

    My initials now are my name... I"m Mary Elizabeth G..... and I go by MEG - always have. I didn't know my name was Mary until I was like 8. My new last name will change my initials to MEM... all my friends have been calling me MEM for the last several months.... It is going to be really confusing to explain Meg to people now...
