  I didn't tip if they owned their own business. If they didn't, I would have given what I normally tip.

  Same here.  I did one at a salon and I tipped as if it were a regular salon appt, but when I had them done by individuals either at my home or thiers, I didn't tip.
  
  Regardless of where they work, I will tip them for their services on the wedding day itself.

  I did tip on mine. She runs her own business on the side but my trial was at the salon. I wasn't sure what to do so I just tipped her.
