NEED A GOOD FOUNDATION PRIMER

I am getting married on August 18th at 6pm. I am needing  a good foundation primer that will actually work! I will be doing some photo's before the ceremony with family and friends so don't want my make-up to just slide off of me and have to do it right before the wedding all over again unless absolutly necessary!

Re: NEED A GOOD FOUNDATION PRIMER

  • Estee Lauder has a good one http://www.esteelauder.com/product/1473/21173/Product-Catalog/Makeup/Face/Primers/Matte-Perfecting-Primer/index.tmpl , it helps with shine as well. I would probably use that along with one of their Double Wear or Double Wear Light foundations. They are supposed to last for 12+ hours and be resistant to sweat/humidity/trasnfering on clothes. I plan on using the Double Wear Light myself for my spring wedding next year. It's photo friendly as well which is an added bonus. Good luck!

Thanks! I'll see if I can get some samples!
  • I love HD Makeup Forever primer.
  • Sephora has some good ones including Urban Decay and Smashbox.  I think any of these or the MUFE would be good.

I usually use Urban Decay (Sephora) and just decided to try Arbonne's primer.  I've used that for the past 2 days and it works well.

  • Smashbox is good for face primer and I like that it comes in different colors.

Pur Minerals has a good face primer too.  I LOVE the green.  It has a nice creamy texture too.

Urban Decay has a good eye primer, but I like Two Faced's better.

Two Faced also makes an amazing lip primer.
  • Smashbox is my favorite.  They have different colors for different types of skin.

You can go into any makeup store and test out the product before you buy it.

  • I love both MAC foundation and primer.

  • My favorite primer is Cover FX (Sephora). They even make different ones that offer matte or dewy or glowy finishes. Their nourishing primer is super awesome, especially for under the eyes where you really don't want your foundation/powder sitting in those lines. JUST as important as primer for all day wear is a finishing spray, Urban Decay makes a good one (that I think you can even get in a mini bottle) and another super good one is Model in a Bottle. You can only get it online but it works magic, and actually smells really good haha like perfume, if you don't mind scents.

  • My favorite is the Smashbox green primer, it's great if you have a lot of redness in your skin, completely neutralizes it. And it makes your skin feel buttery soft, it's so nice.

I'd be careful with Mac face products! They have ingredients in their foundations like mica or zinc oxide that reflect light. Not ideal for flash photography, this can make your face look super pale if a photo is taken in the dark with a flash. Something to be mindful of because you never know if there's going to be a flash on you on your wedding day!
