Should we get cake bags/boxes?

Hello all! Looking for some advice. We were just informed by our venue that we need to provide cake bags/boxes for any guests that want to take cake home with them. But we don't really know how often this happens because we always finish our cake lol. Is it worth getting cake bags/boxes for our guests? Thanks everyone!

We did. But we're also having a dessert buffet so we wanted our guests to be able to take treats home. Some venues will wrap leftover cake in napkins too if you provide them. Just another option.

We asked our baker if they could include a few extra little boxes to help us get stuff home if we had leftovers or if people wanted to take some home. They provided us with some boxes at no charge, but we had a very small wedding (under 40) so they may charge if you have more people.

If your venue provides your cake, maybe look into the cost of small bags. You could always use any leftover bags for things in the future.

FWIW, no one at our wedding took any cake home.

You may want to consider how much food you are having in total.  If you think guests may be full by the time the cake comes out then the boxes are more likely to be used.

Either way I think you can get the white styrofoam type for a low price at GFS, Sams Club or a place like that so it will be a small expense to give people a convenient take home option.

We will have them as well  because we are also having a candy buffet
