Ok, so I am about 1 month off from posting this but better late than never.
He proposed on our 2 year anniversary. I had rented out a dance hall for just the two of us. He never made it to his high School prom so I planned a private one for him.
We danced under the Christmas lights for hours and in the middle of our song, he gave me a card with a poem inside. He is quite the poet and he often writes love poems to me. But at the end he dropped to one knee and propsed!
However with every sweet story there is heartache. After he propsed and I said yes, he told me how he bought this ring for me 5 days after his father died (6 months prior). I was able to tell my father the next day at the hospital. He passed away 3 days later.
Needless to say, we lost both of our fathers, but in turn we gained each other and the ability to grow and push through the hard times.
