Dress alterations and cleaning

I bought my dress at a sample sale and need to find  somewhere to get it taken in. Most of the places I've looked so far will not take dresses not bought in their store. 
Does anyone know of a place in Toronto that will?
Also, recommendations on a fairly priced dry cleaner?

    Have you looked for a semestres? I used my grandmother's semestres... she does wedding dresses, and her work is good, so I felt comfortable using her. =)

    I would try independent seamstresses that don't work out of bridal boutiques. I have the name of a good one, if you need somewhere to start.

    Irenes Bridal on bayview (just south of Eglington) will alter dresses not purchased there.  I had them recomended to me by a friend who used them.   They did an amazing job for her.
