who spends for the bachelorette party?

My closest friends are throwing a bachelorette party for me and I wanted to help out with the costs by taking care of the venue and drinks.  And yet, I found myself being asked to help out with more stuff.  Was I right in helping out or I should have let them foot the bill for the entire party?

    The bride shouldn't be held responsible for paying for a bachelorette party that is being thrown in her honor. It was a breach of etiquette for your friends to ask you for money to cover this event.
