My worst on is my ex(who I cheated on with Sugar), tried to kill himself when I told him I had someone coming to help me pack the next day.  That was traumatic...he even bled on my ACU's and I had to by new ones at $100 a pair.  But he was an abusive nightmare and I had to go to the hospital once because he tried to prove my allergys were in my head by cooking my food with iodized salt(allergenic to iodine)

Aaron did that to me once, sort of. He didn't think I was actually allergic to nuts. I was when I was younger, and I just never tried to see if I had grown out of it. Well, he ate a Reese's and then kissed me (accident. He forgot.) , and I was fine. Since I didn't have a reaction, he made a peanut dressing one night, and I ate it. I was completely freaked out the second I tasted peanuts, but I calmed down when I realized I wasn't dying. Hahaha.
• Holy crap Les. I am sorry, but unless Mike is working (he is an engineer on a construction sight) I KNOW his ring is most safe on his finger. You got a hottie on your arm now though :)
In Response to Re: Wine, Funnies and Conversation anyone? : My cousin is 12. Apparently, they had some girl move here from Detroit, who's been bringing booze to school to try and give to the kids in their class, and she does like IV drugs. From what I've heard, she's pretty messed up from being raped and all kinds of horrible things, which is really sad given that she's TWELVE, but I guess she's reverted into playing the victim for attention. That I can't believe. And all of the parents here are like wtf? Because that kind of thing just does not happen around here.
Posted by Anysunrise
It's not always playing the victim. This is probably TMI, but I was fvcked with as a kid by 2 different people, and my shrink told my mom that I would likely end up as one of two people--completely introverted and never want anyone to touch me, or a promiscuous party girl who needed attention to feel 'worthy.' Either way, it's a way of dealing with what happened in order to survive. Luckily I ended up as the introverted one, but I honestly can see why some girls go the other way. It's not an easy thing to live with.

Also, all you girls are beautiful and amazing, so don't ever let those guys make you feel badly about yourself. I had a guy once tell me that because I didn't have the body of a porn star that I wasn't worthy of anything other than date rape, which he did, and holy hell did that fvck with my self-esteem. But they are the a-holes who deserve nothing but the worst, not us.

Ya, definitely not ok. That's not a douchey-ex thing, that's a psychopathic-ex thing.
• I heart you, Sesh. SO much.  I know you've touched on the sh.t you went through when you were younger before, but I was never sure.  I give you so much credit for struggling through that and becoming the amazing person you are. For real.
• Thanks, Meaghan.  I've thought about this a lot - because I now KNOW I'm worthy of being treated so much better.  Why do we put up with such crap?  Why do we let these a-holes treat us like worthless scum when we deserve better?  We stay with them, hoping it will turn out better than we know it possibly can.  Fortunately, it seems like the ladies here have put all these losers in the past, and we have found good men to marry now.

<div>I was repeating what I had heard, but I'd say it's more of the second one in her case. This is all second hand knowledge and hearsay anyways. </div><div>
I was never thin enough, smart enough, pretty enough, or made enough money for my douche ex-H, and I started to believe I really wasn't worthy.  He would actually get angry if we were shopping and an outfit that he saw on display didn't look as good on me as it did on someone else.  It takes a long time to get over being treated like that. The beginning of the end was when he drove to New Orleans with a friend to sneak into the SuperBowl.  While they were at the game someone broke the passenger window of the car and stole everything inside, including his wedding ring.  He tried to explain that he left it in the glove compartment of the car 'for safekeeping'.  Um, wouldn't it be safer on your stupid finger, asshole?  Maybe you just didn't want to look married.  The best part was that it was cold and rainy all the way home and they had no window in the car.

Les - I had the x who chipped away at my self-esteem with his nasty little, seemingly innocent comments.  I don't know how many times and how many ways he conveyed how much smarter he was than me.  On the face of it, it really wasn't much but 20+ years of it wore on me.  That and all the drinking & recreational drug use.......

Dude, TK just kicked me off forever and I wanted to respond!

I'll admit, there are time when I still feel sorry for myself. But then I try to remember that there are people who have it much worse than me. I have a lot to be thankful for, although sometimes it can be hard to get in that mindset. But honestly, I don't tell people for pity. I'm finally at a place where I can talk about it, and so I want to help others who have gone through similiar experiences. Especially kids.
• We had a Halloween party last night, so are in recovery mode today. I am looking forward to staying in sweats for teh whole weekend.
