Holy $hit, no you can't invite more people now

Our RSVP date is next Thursday.  I have ZERO envelopes left.  None.  FI just got a facebook address request for a friend's wedding (a friend of his I dislike, btw), and now he feels guilty that we didn't invite this couple.  I asked him REPEATEDLY if he wanted to.

So, he's going to claim that our invite to them is lost in the mail and I don't have supplies to send another one, so here's the details & the wedding website - wanna come?

FFS.  ENOUGH ALREADY.

[QUOTE]  They live in Colorado and funds are pretty tight, so I doubt they will come anyway.

Well there you go!  Look on the bright side!  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />

  • That's part of why I don't feel like arguing.  We have enough declines that I don't care if they do come.  I'm not spending time talking to this guy - he's weird and irritating - but I'll say hello and thank you and whatnot.  But, it's about a 5% chance they'll come anyway.

  • Yeah we had a couple last minute additions like that, and cousins who wrote in their boyfriend/girlfriend on the RSVP card that I didn't know they had.  I didn't even bother to argue about it at that point because we had enough declines for it not to matter.  It can be annoying though!

  • Guys just don't get it!  We have gotten several STD in the mail recently from people we haven't invited to our wedding and my FI is feeling bad.  Several of the people work for him so I am sure they feel like they need to invite their boss, but that doesn't mean we need to invite them!  Especially because we are having a DW and a party in Toronto a few weeks later, so it isn't like they would be invited to the actual wedding anyway.

But way to go picking your battles!

  • Hmmm. If you are out of invitations but don't feel like arguing, have room & don't believe they'll come anyways, just make a DIY invitation to send them. I've seen some at discount stores like TJ Maxx for next to nothing. I'm sure it's cheaper than going to the printer & asking them to run off extras now.
