XP: DIY peacock feather fan bouquet PIP

Hello ladies!

I'm making a peacock feather fan bouquet. My inspiration is the below picture. It is $90 on etsy and I know I can make it for less.

I ordered the feathers, mums and cosmos. But the zinnias I ordered (the large purple flowers) are more of a pink/fuschia color and totally won't work. I ordered everything from afloral.com and I must say the quality is excellent.

Anyway, does anyone have a suggestion for a different type of large dark purple flower I can use in place of the zinnia?

Thanks a bunch!

Just because you saw it on Four Weddings, doesn't mean it's a good idea.
  • Very cool. I'd think maybe a dahlia would look nice like this?

  • Try a purple hydrangia
  • I think you could do Ranunculus or as the pp said Anemone. I am in love the bouquet. Can't wait to see how it turns out!!

  • I was going to say dahlias since I'm using them and I think they're lovely, but I see PP already suggested them. :) I LOVE your idea, I think it's gorgeous!

  • That is gorgeous!

Have you considered making the purple flower?? There are so many tutorials on line of how to make a variety of flowers with a variety of materials. That way you can pick your exact shade of purple and not have to worry about what is in season or anything like that.
