Location for engagement pictures - North/Central NJ

Hi everyone - I'm looking for a park or other outside location to take engagement pictures somewhere in North/Central NJ. We are taking our pictures in three weeks and am really hoping for some place where the leaves will be super Fall like since our wedding is next Fall. Any ideas?

NJ Botanical Gardens?? I saw some engagement photos that were shot there --- the grounds looked fantastic!

We took ours last November at Lambert's Castle in Paterson, there was still some foliage and we got some fun "playing in the leaves" shots.

We took ours in downtown Clinton area, they have a stream/lake and urban area so it was great.

We also took our wedding pictures at Watchung Lake Park which came out beautiful- lots of trees.

We took ours at the Botanical Gardens and that would be beautiful in the fall. The grounds are really nice there. Defintely the Botanical Gardens. There are other gardens in the area like the Frelinghuysen (sp) Arboretum, but I believe they require a permit at a fairly substantial cost.

I also vote for the NJ Botanical Gardens. We did our e-pics there 3 weeks ago & it was a-frekin-mazing. Even though there was a harvest fair going on & hundreds of cars, our photog had been there before & knew how to find the secluded spots. We did see a single person after we got there.

The backdrop is perfect for any style of photography, really. There are lots of spots for more formal pictures, but there are lots of cute little nooks for candid shots. It really is perfect.

Side note: I also vote for Lambert's Castle in Paterson. That's where we will be taking our wedding pictures
