second guessing transportation decision

So I never even CONSIDERED wanting to get transportation, limo, etc but now that I've had time to myself this past weekend (FI is away for work and I don't live near family so didn't do much for Easter) I've had plenty of time to obssess over wedding stuff. LOL.

For some reason yesterday I started thinking.... hmmmm maybe it would be nice to ride in a limo or something for the wedding because when would I ever ride in one? a funeral? It is a completely random thought and I'm not sure what the catalyst was. We were just going to drive our car. FI doesn't care either way.

Anyhow... if I could even find anyone available should I do it? It might be fun to get picked up from the church and taken to where we are getting pictures done, and then to the reception rather than driving. We are riding the hotel shuttle back from the reception so we wouldn't need a ride at the end of the evening, so it would just be that window in between church and reception, not too $$ I don't think, probably whatever their minimum is....

What do you all think? Is it worth it?

(I have ANOTHER day off today to obssess over wedding stuff since I work in a school and we don't have school today because of Easter - I think I actually NEED to get back to work!)

:)

Unfortunately, most limo companies will require a 4 hour time block, or at least, you pay for a 4 hour time block.

I think I heard someone rented a car from a guy that has historic cars. That might be an idea!

I googled a few companies in Columbus and while I only clicked on the first thing that came up ---->cap city limo had $275 for 2 hours.... but maybe I wasn't reading it right though. lol. I'll double check.

I will look into the car idea as well, thanks! That does sound fun. Now that I think about it I do think I remember a post about that awhile back... I'll search for it.

    Thanks! :)

If you can get 2 hours for that much, I'd probably book it with no problem.  When I was looking, I only found stuff that was at least $1000, so that became a no go for us.

Yeah I'll check out some reviews of the company just in case. I definitely don't think this is a necessary expense, but it might be fun. We'll see.... :)

EDIT - Just read some reviews which aren't too good.... maybe I will rethink this "good deal" after all!

What about the trolley?  You can rent it out for a 2 hour block, you can have some super cute pics, and you could take the WP along with you....maybe a fun option!

The antique car guy's name is Mark. He has some amazing stuff. Base prices start at $425 for 2 hours though. We looked into it, but couldn't justify the expense. It was that, or 8 guests cut from the guest list! lol

I definitely know what you mean! We weren't even considering the expense of transportation and whatever because of $$$..... but now that I've gotten almost all of my RSVPs back I know that while we are going to have a really good turnout there were enough declines to justify maybe a limo, car, or something more of a "splurge" as long as it is less than 500 or so. Or I guess we could just save the money - thats probably a good idea too<img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

We used the trolley from the church to pictures to the reception and loved every minute of it, and so did our BP. We rented for 4 hours from Columbus Trolley, but the minimum is only 2 hours. I also booked them about a month before the wedding, so it's not too late to book transportation if you decide that's what you want.

Roughly how much is the trolley? I really like the idea of the trolley and looking to get it around 4 hours.
