Wedding memories poll

So this board is dead, and I know a lot of ladies are still out on their HM's, etc. but I thought the rest of us could do a little poll.

What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
What was your favorite gift?
Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
In 5 words only, describe your wedding.

Re: Wedding memories poll

  • What was your favorite song you danced to that night? Piano Man. Everyone surrounded us and it was just so fun.

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on? Well, I didn't make it but I asked my sister to-I had a pennant banner above the head table that was just so beautiful and fun. It took her a while but it was perfect.

What was your favorite gift? A girlfriend of mine made me a beautiful magnet board via Pinterest that matches my kitchen perfectly!

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet? Liked. It was the wrong color because the florist couldn't get the peonies in the ivory/blush I wanted, so it was a little too purpley pink for me. But it was still gorgeous and full.

In 5 words only, describe your wedding. Rainy, but perfect love-filled day

  • What was your favorite song you danced to that night? - I didn't dance much, but probably the classics.... YMCA and Macarena... watching the little kids try and copy everyone was great!
What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on? - Food! I had one caterer booked, and then switched to a different one! I'm so happy I did! Everyone LOVED the food, it was absolutely delicious and worth every penny!
What was your favorite gift? - either the quilt that one of the ladies I work with made for us, or the hand carved bowl my uncle bruoght us from Mexico! one of a kind stuff like that is amazing!
Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet? - Loved it! I didn't do flowers, but carried a giant pinwheel! The girls had them too... they were great!
In 5 words only, describe your wedding - Absolutely one hundred percent us!

What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
I loved all the songs I danced to, so it's hard to pick. I guess I'd have to go with our first dance song- "I Could Not Ask for More" by Edwin McCain

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
Cake and Flowers- they were both so beautiful and the cake was delicious. Everyone was raving about it. I was also happy with the few DIY projects I did. It added to my day knowing they were my own personal touches.

    What was your favorite gift?
One of H's (that's still so weird!!) 2nd cousins is an artist, and she painted a beautiful painting for us with a poem and note on the back of it.

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
LOVED it. I loved all my flowers. Our florist completely got the vision I had and made it come to life for me :)

In 5 words only, describe your wedding.
    We are so incredibly lucky!

  • What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
    - Sweet Caroline.  It was our last dance of the night, and like PP, all of our guests formed a circle around us, and serenaded us.  Following that, our parents joined us in the center and we all said a quick thank you and goodbye to our guest...  and then it was time for the afterp arty! :)

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
    - I honestly don't really know... it all went better than I ever imagined, but at the same time I don't feel like I spent a lot of time on any one thing.  I would say I'm glad my aunts spent so much time on the centerpieces and the favors :)  They definitely added a lot, and were perfect!

    What was your favorite gift?
    - Our favorite gift was from my brother and sister-in-law..  They gave us a shufflepuck game for the shower, For the wedding, they gave us a tent (we are going camping with them this summer) and a ring dish, and some other little things.  Perfectly us things.

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
    - It grew on me.  At first I wasn't sure becuase it was huge, but the more I see it in pictures, the more i LOVE it.

In 5 words only, describe your wedding.
    - Amazing weekend, surrounded by love.
    Anniversary
  • What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
Our first dance song, The Luckiest by Ben Folds... Even though the dj screwed with it a little bit (he played the first verse two times and cut the rest- One hand, SUPER thankful he didn't play it for the full 4 minutes, on the other hand- So many good verses, why the first one twice??)

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
The photobooth! People LOVED it. I totally was frustrated with H for taking SO long on the technical stuff with it, but it was totally worth it in the end. I'm glad he ignored me and stuck with it!

    What was your favorite gift?
H's uncle & aunt letting us stay at their multimillion dollar beach front house in Seaside on our HM- It. Was. AWESOME.

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
I liked it. I made it myself with Costco roses, and it was super simple- But I wish I would've made it a little fuller. However, my mom's friends made the BM bouquets, bout's, and corsages, and I HATED them. They insisted on tossing in a ton of baby's breath and I think it made everything look really cheap.

Unfortunately, I hated my BM bouquets too. They were done by the florist but they were just plain looking and didn't match anything else. :( Oh well, my centerpiece flowers were gorgeous.

What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
Simple Man Shinedown acoustic version. Because it was the second to last song, and everybody that was there got in a circle with their arms around the person next to them and we all sang as loud as we could. It was a really special moment.

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
My cake topper. I dont know why I'm so in love with it. I think because I put a lot of time and work into that and it was so beautiful. The fact that I could have bought one that looked just like it but instead I actually made it myself, I think thats why it means a lot.

    What was your favorite gift?
A gift from my stepmom and dad. They spent a year making it. They took each picture themselves and each picture has a meaning from somewhere in my life :)

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?

Ain't no mountain high enough -- it was so much fun and everyone sang it and played around. super cute.

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
The flowers -- we had flowers EVERYWHERE...in the chandeliers, on the tables, hanging from trees, on top of lanterns...everyone said it was like a fairy tale.

    What was your favorite gift?
Hubby would say his new food processor...but I love our dishes..they're just fiestaware but the colors are so fun! His aunts bought all of our table settings.

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
I LOVED it. It was massive...the florist said it was the largest and heaviest one she's ever done. It was seriously like 20 pounds. For the first part of our ceremony I had to hold it one handed...so that was heavy. It was incredibly beautiful though. All peonies in ivory...ahhh.

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
LOVED!  I couldn't really find a photo of a bouquet that I loved enough to duplicate, but my florist was awesome enough to somehow understand my "vision" from about 20 photos and figure out what I wanted even when I wasn't sure myself, lol.  The most beautiful bouquet I've ever seen.

  • What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
I'd probably choose Sweet Caroline.  Like some PPs have mentioned, it was the song that got everyone on the floor in a circle singing and dancing with us.  It commonly happens anytime H's family gets together though.  The close second was our anniversary dance.  Of course H & I got kicked off the floor in the first minute though.  Our winning couple was 54 years.

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
The food.  I still haven't stopped hearing about how good it was.

    What was your favorite gift?
My mom crocheted our names and wedding date on a banner and had it matted and framed (wish I had a picture!)

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
Liked.  Overall, the flowers were great.   I wished my bouquet was bigger and I wish I hadn't chosen hydrangea for the BMs because it was wilting before the reception.

In 5 words only, describe your wedding.
    Unforgettable celebration of love. Perfect.
  • What was your favorite song you danced to that night?
Our first dance. We had a friend play "Grow Old With You" on acoustic guitar. It was absolutely perfect!

What was the one detail you're glad you spent so much time on?
All of the little DIY projects. I keep getting comments on how personalized everyone felt our wedding was.

    What was your favorite gift?
Money. We'll be in a great position to buy a house once we pay off some more debt.

Did you love, like, or hate your bouquet?
