Thoughts on pre-owned wedding dresses

Anyone purhcase their dress on any of the pre-owned wedding dress sites like preowneddresses.com or oncewed.com.  I'm considering looking into it to save $$$ and wondering what the experience was and how safe the transaction is.  Do let me know.  Thank you!

    I've been thinking about buying pre-owned, but I want to be able to try on different dresses and see what looks best. Should I try on gowns at a local store and then see if I can find something similar online? What about alterations? I'm not too proud to wear a dress that's been worn before, but the logistics seem iffy.
