Aisle runner?

I am having an outdoor wedding ceremony and want to get your opinion on the aisle runner. The ceremony is going to take place in a koi pond garden. The bridal party will be on brick but the guests' seats and aisle will be on the grass. Do you think I should have the traditional wedding aisle or go with something outlining the aisle and just walk on the grass?

personally i see it as a total waste of money. even to make it urself. what's gonna happen to it after the 1/3 hr wedding? it's gonna go right into the garbage...or a box in the attic. don't bother.

I also second the no runner idea. I think they're nice for indoor ceremonies, but I don't see them as necessary for an outdoor ceremony.

I went with petals lining the edge of the aisle and it added so much. THe pics turned out fabulous...I'm not a fan of a standard aisle runner...especially outdoors.

One venue I visited recommended not usnig an aisle runner outside because the wind blows it and makes it look all crumply.
