Wedding Recap and Withdrawal

Cruise Weddings

I just did a cruise ship wedding, and I have to tell you, it was the best choice of venue.
Some brides I hear couldn't remember if they truly enjoyed that 1 day.  I did...for a week.
I really thought I wanted a traditional banquet style wedding like everyone else, but several things prevented that from happening:
Work overload.  I hate details.  I got anxiety thinking about decorations, entertainment, and costs.  OH, and i hated hosting.
The idea of a cruise wedding sat in the back of my mind for months, until finally I decided to scratch the tradition and do a destination wedding.

It was worth it.

Not once did I fret, or was overwhelmed, or was frustrated at details, drama, inconsistencies, or incompetence.
Our families and friends went.  At times, they did their own things, and other times hung with the bride and groom for cheers and parties.  Parents who brought their babies along were able to use the daycare while the parents went out to have fun around the ship and at shore excursions.
I have to say, I had a week of fun filled memories, suntanning, exploring with friends, participating at casino tournaments, etc.

As it crept to the day of my wedding on one of the islands, the blast didn't stop.  I wasn't expecting much, but the coordinator brought everything together: cake was good, water was true blue, and definitely the environment helped provide the activities.  The photography was awesome! And we got it the 2 days later.
OH, and I love to swim.  So when the coordinator asks if I would jump into the ocean with my wedding gown, I didn't even hesitate.

You know when you had the most awesome wedding of your dreams when you remember each and every event leading up to the vows.  And the stories I have to tell about my wedding aren't filled with petty dramas, but out-of-this world comedic situations: From the dining, to the casinos, to landing on a couple of islands, and lastly to my tying the knot on the bluest shores in a tropical wonderland.
