Outdoor Weddings

windy day?

We rented an outdoor pavilion that is amazing and is perfect for us. In case the weather is bad we have the option to use the indoor ballroom (if no one has it rented. it was half the price of the venue to reserve the ballroom just in case). I only want to resort to the ballroom if its rainy. SInce we live in West Texas my main concern is wind.
What would be a good way to keep things from flying off? (menus, escort cards, flower arrangements, ETC)

thanks guys!

Re: windy day?

  • It sounds like your best chance of things not blowing away is to weigh things down.  Put the wrapped silverware or favors on top of the menus, use something other than paper tents (like fruit) or a seating chart for the escort cards, etc.  As for the flowers, if they're in a vase, you shoudn't have a problem, but if you're wanting to weigh them down more, I'd suggest river rocks or decorative stones at the bottom of the vase.
