Save-the-Dates - Graphic Designer Recommendation?

I have an idea for our save-the-dates, but I am in need of a graphic designer/artist to first generate a piece of artwork to be printed on the save-the-date.  Can anyone recommend a good graphic designer with a strong art talent?  I'd ideally like someone we could work with straight through from generating a sketch to printing the save-the-dates.  We may ultimately want to use the same artwork on the invitation.  We don't have a huge budget for the save-the-dates (looking for approx. $1/card), so affordable is key too!  Me and my champagne taste with a beer budget.  Thanks!

    We used
    savethedateoriginals.com

It is a one-gal buisness, her name is Angie and she is fantastic and amazingly affordable.  We did our STD's with a design she already had for about 50 cents a magnet.  She's awesome with working with you to create your own design.

The only downside (which she mentions on her website) is that "the process" isn't super fast.  She usually takes about 3 days to respond to an email - her business has grown a lot but she's still on her own.  It's usually worth the wait, but she's not the gal to use if you are rushed for time.
Our STD's probably took about 2-3 weeks from first design email to receiving them.
Our invites had a small custom design and I'd say from first design email about invitations to receiving them was about 5 weeks (but we had a total of 5 cards, 2 envelopes and a pocket fold).

    Hope this helps!

Hello! My fiance is a graphic designer and is always looking for new ideas to create for freelance.  He could crank you out something in no time for cheap!  Please message me if you'd like to speak with him regarding your STD's and invitations.  We're planning a wedding as well so we know how important budget is! :-)

My sister is actually starting an custom invite business and she did ours plus our invites and table numbers, escort cards, etc. all in coordinating designs from scratch. Since she's just starting I'm pretty sure she can still do people's at-cost.

As for experience, she went to art school in Chicago on a scholarship and is now an art director at a newspaper. She's done several other event invites for people we know also.

If you're interested, email me and I can get you her info.  britanee@gmail.com

Gardenia11 and Brit12 - Thanks for your posts!  We ended up finding something on WeddingPaperDivas for our STD's.  However, invitations are another story and our next endeavor.  I'll message/e-mail you separately to get more information.  Thanks again!

We are getting ours done by Seedlings. They are around 7 dollars per invite, but we wanted the works. Also, one of my sorority sisters from college has done invites for various events for us as well (she did our graduation announcements) and I loved her business as well (PS Paperie).
