Rehearsal Dinner--should we provide the drinks?

We are having a September wedding, and we are paying for the wedding on our own. The rehearsal dinner is going to be at a local restaurant, where we have the choice to have a pre-set menu or to order off the regular menu. Our wedding is going to be informal, so we want to just order off the menu. Should we provide drinks for all the guests? What is the proper etiquette?

Yes you should. At ours, we offered unlimited beer, wine, and soda, and that was fine for everyone.

We are providing non-alcoholic drinks, but if members want alcoholic drinks they will have to pay for the drinks themselves.

We didn't have a full beer but offered unlimited wine and beer and a bunch of non-alcoholic drinks.

I think you should provide some sort of drink options but you don't need to offer a full bar or even any alcoholic beverages if you don't want to.

beer, wine and soda should be provided yes, but do not need a full open, not necessary.

I don't think you need to provide alcoholic beverages for the RD if you can't afford it, but definitely non-alcoholic beverages. You definitely don't want to blow more than you can on the RD. I'm going to have a pretty casual RD at a park and get food catered (trying to keep it under 7 a person) and I'm just buying beer and wine from the liquor store.
