Help! It feels like every venue in MD/NOVA is booked already!

I am desperately trying to find a venue for my wedding, and having no luck.  I really want it to be on a Saturday night this September or October, and it seems every place I contact is already booked.  I've focused my search in Maryland (Montgomery/Howard County, etc. and Baltimore) and Northern Virginia. I've stayed away from DC to keep the cost down.

We are having 100-125 guests, and are planning to have the ceremony and reception in the same place.  We are flexible on the date, just not the Saturday night part (except perhaps the Sunday of Columbus Day).

Any suggestions out there for venues to check out?

The Bolger Center in Potomac, MD. They're pretty booked up but they might have something. call Annette: 301-983-7244. I'm getting married there in Sept.

You can also try the Maggiano's in Chevy Chase, they were the other place we were looking at. They have a beautiful room and a dance floor, etc.

Also look up Newton White Mansion. Absolutely beautiful. It's in PG County, but if I remember correctly it's pretty close to Montgomery.

I haven't lived in the area since high school (but my wedding will be there), so not sure how helpful I will be.  These are few places that I wouldn't have thought of, so  perhaps one will be available?
I have no idea what type of venue you are looking for, but if it is early October this place would likely work.  I drove past once while they were having a wedding and looked beautiful, that said they probably don't have a back up ceremony option if it rained.http://www.montgomeryparks.org/PPSD/Cultural_Resources_Stewardship/heritage/woodlawn_manor.shtm
This place also looks nice (although it seems to be a similar type of venue): http://www.rockvillemd.gov/glenview/
I also really like the mansion at Strathmore Hall. http://www.strathmore.org/facilityrentals/mansion.asp
The Woodend Sanctuary also looks like it would work in October:http://www.audubonnaturalist.org/default.asp?page=559#rates
This was a list I looked at when I considering venues (I didn't choose a venue listed, but was still helpful): http://www.wishspecialevents.com/blog/tag/venue-spotlight/

our reception is going to be at the westin alexandria, which is a gorgeous venue - i don't know how busy they are in the fall, but you can always check.

if you're looking at a fall wedding, my coworker got married at rust manor house in leesburg a few months ago in november. they got it at relatively short notice (they had a six or seven month engagement) so it's possible there still may be dates open.

if you're thinking something a little less rustic, there's also top of the town, which is in arlington and is supposed to have great views of the city.

@kmcostello30: Thanks, I have checked out your suggestions, and they look great but unfortunately are on my growing list of venues that are already booked up!  The search continues...

@MeaganB12:  Thanks, a few of these are booked, but I am looking at 2941.  I've never been there, have you attended a wedding there?

Check out the Sheraton in Tysons Corner- we're having our reception in the Capital Club there. Last I talked to them (about a month ago) they had a decent number of dates left and I got mine for October!

What about restaurants that you and your FI like?  If they have a private room that can accommodate a party your size, that might be the ticket.  Also, you may want to try local Parks & Recreation resources.  How about historic inns?  What about a B&B?  How about a winery?

I'm getting married at the Sheraton hotel in Columbia which is right by the mall and on the lake. We're having our ceremony on the outdoor patio overlooking the lake and moving inside for the reception. If you're doing it early fall it still might be warm enough for the outside ceremony, otherwise they do inside ceremonies too.

You can have the ceremony and reception at the same place and your out of town guests can stay right there at the hotel! I would highly recommend it! :)

I don't know if this is too far, but I am getting married at the Thomas BIrkby House in Leesburg, VA.  I LOVE It.  Its an old historic house.  The price is very affordable, considering that they provide the tent and all the tables.  It has the house, a carriage house, gorgeous gazebo, a bridal salon, a groom salon. The venue only holds up to 150 people.  You get the site for the whole day pretty much (official rental time = 8 hours) they do not book two events/day.  You also get use of the historic house for your cocktail hour while the site is transformed from ceremony to reception.

    Hope this helps!
