Snarky Brides

A Laugh and an Evening Thread

Hopefully TK doesn't eat this.
Anyone seen this video?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=__dUlY0JpSc
It's of a 10 year old kid right after surgery as he's coming out of anesthesia.  Hilarious.

What is everyone up to?  I just got back from the hospital visiting gpa all afternoon.  Mom called me early this afternoon after the doctor checked out the MRI from last night.  I guess his prostate cancer spread farther than they thought.  The doc said he has somewhere from 2 weeks to 3 months is what he's got.  They're meeting with hospice tomorrow morning and figuring out details :(  Now all we can do is make him comfortable in his last weeks/months.  He's still full of jokes though.  I'm glad he's got his spunk.  He's still in good spirits, which is good.  I'm hoping he stays that way.

I'm currently working on my flowergirl basket and it's super cute. I'll post pics when I'm done.

I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather, Chelsea.  Hospice is a great thing, though, and I know a lot of patients and families who say that the time in hospice is the best time they had with their loved ones.  My prayers are with your family.

Thanks mica, I appreciate it!  As of last night he was doing a lot better, so we were surprised to hear how downhill he truly was.  Granted he was also hooked up to IVs all day yesterday.

And geesh I take it nobody can see this thread? I must be in the other dimension of TK.
  • I can see it.

I'm getting ready to go to my brother's HS graduation. There's like 900 freaking kids graduating, so it's going to be long. thank GOD we only have to go through half.

  • Chels-  I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather.  T&P's for your family.

I finally got some wedding stuff figured out today so that makes me feel better. Otherwise, I've been useless for the last few days from not feeling well.

Has anyone read this?  A 22 year old girl who just graduated from Yale was killed a few days after the commencement.  She wrote a fantastic piece for the school news paper.  At one point she wrote "We're so young. We're so young. We're twenty-two years old. We have so much time.".

    Gives me chills.
