song father/daughter -- mother/son can dance to together??

So my fiance and I want to pick a song that both myself and my dad and he and his mom can dance to at the same time.  Something meaningful but not too mushy.  Something preferably under three minutes because my dad hates to dance.....

Is anyone else doing this??  I have no clue where to start--any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

I was curious about this as well, I think his mom as well as my dad would be happier if it was one dance for all four of us.  I was thinking of what a wonderful world but wasn't sure if that was over played.

We are doing this as well.  We will be using Unforgettable, by Nat King Cole (the duet version with his daughter)

This is a good idea! I don't have a father in my picture, I was going to dance with my mom and step-mom. Having him and his mom out there would make it a little less weird.

I was originally thinking of using "My Wish" by Rascall Flatts. May still, I know he likes that song too.

We are doing this also. I think she and her dad will start first, and then my mom and I will join in halfway through. Don't know what song yet, though. Haven't liked most of the common suggestions, and none of the stuff we've listened to has really seemed perfect yet either.

I had wanted to do this at my wedding to "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion, but unfortunately, both of my parents passed away before my wedding.

I am so jealous!  I love that movie and thought it would be a beautiful song.  I actually wanted to ask my cousins to sing it while I walked up the aisle. But my in laws insisted on us getting married in the church or they wouldn't recognize our marriage.  The church won't let us use non religious music.  Enjoy!

I'm doing Sunrise Sunset too - it was part of my parents' wedding, so it was an easy choice.

This is what we danced to. We combined the parent dances because niether MIL or my dad were really comfortable dancing.

Hey everyone - I've selected "In my Life," by the Beatles. It's short, wonderful, not overly mushy, and I think my dad will really love the choice from his generation.

We did that and we used "My Wish" by Rascall Flats.  It was so cool because about halfway through my mom and his dad starting dancing together with us!

We are doing this as well, and wanted to pick a shorter song since my dad also hates to dance.  We chose "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.  It's only about two and a half minutes long but still a beautiful song.

We're using "Teach Your Children" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

My fiance and I are doing the same thing!  And we are also doing "In My Life" but doing the Johnny Cash cover.  A little slower than the Beatles version and a little less traditional than most songs!  Good luck with your search!

We are planning to do this as well.  It's going to be Elton John's Can you feel the love tonight.

We are dancing together (me with my dad, him with his mom) and we are using "Never Alone" by Lady Antebellum - not too mushy but still very nice!

<div>This is what my sister and her husband did with my dad/his mom at their wedding.</div><div>
</div><div>Of course, halfway through, the band stopped and Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" came on and everybody started breaking it down...but my family has a wacky sense of humor like that.  <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing" title="Laughing" /></div>
