[QUOTE]You are way too far out to be looking at dresses.  You can pick a color and go shopping with each BM individually to pick out dresses in their price range. That's what I did. Each BM wore a different dress and each one looked great. Well, except one, but it has more to do with the fact that she's not wearing a bra than what her dress looks like.

[QUOTE]I only read the first page so perhaps you're re-thinking the dresses in the OP, but just in case... If it is in a public park, it only takes one gust of wind for your bridesmaids to pull a 'Marilyn' and have the skirt blow up.  Those definitely look like dresses that are suceptible to somethign like that.

[QUOTE]Being beautiful is sexy too, just a different form. I forgot that you were young and not getting married for a few years. I would hold off on getting BM dresses. It's perfectly fine to look, but I wouldn't purchase anything until you were much closer. Bodies change and new dresses come out all the time.

Well I mean to hit edit, but this will work too. I'm too lazy to go back and fix it. 2013 is a lot closer than I thought it was. Duh me.

I graduated early and I'm in cosmetology school. I'm not just randomly not in school and napping on the couch all day, lol.

    I KNOW people graduate early.

Totally not concerned if she graduated early. I just would be concerned if she HASN'T graduated.

Cool on the cosmetology school ... good for you for going on with your education!

Thanks! Traditional school was difficult for me. I'm not in a good school district (too many students, not enough teachers, underpaid, most of us are pretty poor and a lot of us don't have our parents) and it just didn't make sense for me to spend more time there. This really is a better choice for me.

Yeah, I couldn't believe she'd show up not wearing a bra.

She was also dressed and ready with her make up on at 10 am. The wedding was at 6 pm....

I just stopped caring about what she looked like haha.

But yeah, OP I didn't realise 2013 was so close. Oops.

Edited for gratuitous use of "haha".

My friend picked out a backless JCrew dress for us, and I couldn't find a bra that didn't show SOMEWHERE, so I got the silicone sticky cups, except I sweat when I dance. Oh man. BAD TIMES. Lol, I'll take people teasing about your BMs bountiful, flowing breasts over my age any day!

    Btw, your wedding looks beautiful!
  • LMAO on the sticky boobs. My middle daughter uses them sometimes and they are just so weird. (Save us a bundle on alterations though cuz she hasn't been amply blessed by the boob fairy yet!) She calls them her 'boobs-in-a-box.' She makes me laugh, that girl.

Oh, and I agree the diff dresses in the same color DO look nice. DD is doing that for her wedding in September. I think it's cool to let the girls each find something a little bit their own, y'know? She just told them the brand, fabric, color and that they needed to order it floor length. Out of five, nobody chose the same one!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Can I use these? : True, but the chances of the dresses still BEING there will be slim to none.  Department stores change out inventory about every 3 months, so if you guys get your hearts set on something now, come time to buy them, you may have a hard time finding them. I've never picked out a BM dress 8 months out.  It's always more like 3 or 4 months out (usually closer to 3).  I'd wait a bit.  And if you want people to take your wedding serious, in spite of your age, I would steer your girls away from trying to look like college sorority girls at a club and more towards looking like adults at a formal event.

Thanks! That's really good to know.

Honestly, people can take my wedding however they want. It's serious whether they agree or not!
  • Graduating early or not, I still can't imagine getting married at 17/18 (will you turn 18 before your wedding next year)? I'm not going to write a huge long thing or harp on it, but I honestly just wonder what the rush is? If you know you guys want to be together forever, why not wait a few more years? Is FI your age? How are you guys paying bills, rent, insurance, etc? FWIW, this isn't me trying to be rude or harsh, just concerned. Marriage is a HUGE decision to make and even though you guys are in love now and may be for your whole lives, things still can change and I guess I don't see why you can't wait a few years.

But as far as dresses go, I did not like the Deb one. Some others have posted good options. My personal favorite is probably the one posted from DB that you can get in Watermelon. It's still cheap but I think it looks nice and would be wedding-appropriate.

  • About those sticky cups...I remember at my last homecoming when everyone started sweating, you would just see "boobs" becoming more and more uneven and sliding down further until it looked like they all had utters or something. It was really funny!

  • PPs really have this all covered but I thought I could reiterate.

The original dress posted really looks like a halloween costume or lingerie. Grandma would probably make some blunt comments and you would likely look back on your wedding pictures and be appalled with that choice.

I do like the Forever21 dresses a lot better, #2 is my favorite.

I also think going with one color and different dresses is a good idea. Department stores would be a great place to look. I also love asos.com. They have lots of cute pink dresses under $75 that are young and wedding appropriate. Plus they do free shipping both ways and no sales tax.

<div>I'd also consider how the dress will look in photos when you look back at them 5, 10 15 years from now.  A clasically styled dress will look beautiful years from now.  I understand your girls wanting to look sexy but they can look sexy without having to show a lot of skin.   A good dress, jewelrey and sexy heels will do wonders.</div>
