Venue help!

My best friend (and bridesmaid) recently got engaged. She and her fiance are looking for the following and have a food/beverage/venue budget of $10,000:

- Winter wedding cabin "feel" (exposed beams, fireplace, etc.)
- Metro-Detroit area
- Appx. 200 guests
- Lost of windows if possible
- Friday wedding
- December
- Willing to have a buffet and or beer/wine only

She has already spoke with Oak Pointe Country Club and Dunham Hills and both are a no go.

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions!

Re: Venue help!

  • Fox Hills Golf Club in Plymouth has a space called the fox classic which is basically in a log cabin. I think it would be around that price range for a Friday in December. When we went and talked to them it was for my Saturday June weddings where their minimums are way pricier. http://www.foxhills.com/photo-gallery

Or the Iroquois club in Bloomfield Hills. http://theiroquoisclub.com/ From the pictures it looks beautiful but I dont know about pricing.

Indian Springs in White Lake doesn't have a fireplace and the only ceremony space in the winter would be the same room as the reception, but it's worth a look.

ETA: I just checked the pdf I got from the caterer (Kosch) and they had a winter wedding package for $50pp, but that included premium bar. Maybe they would work with her and lower the price if she only wanted beer and wine. (The price may be higher now. I got this from them last summer.)

Myth Golf Course is pretty reasonably priced, but I think your indoor ceremony options would be limited too. It's north of Rochester.
